Instinct MI300X put 192GB of HBM3 on a part whose NVIDIA contemporary carried 141GB, and MI355X now matches Blackwell Ultra at 288GB rather than beating it. The remaining difference is software: ROCm is open where CUDA is not, which is worth something across a five year estate and costs something on the first day. EPYC covers the host side on builds that are not Grace based.
