Privacy Policy

Alchemist Server Sdn Bhd ("we", "us") handles personal data under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). This policy sets out what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It applies to you whether or not you are in Malaysia.

What we collect

Only what you type into a form. When you submit an enquiry, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Company name, phone number and country, if you fill them in
• Anything you choose to write in your message
• The product or solution you enquired about, and the page you submitted from
• Your language and currency preference
• A record that you ticked the consent box, and when

When you subscribe to the technical newsletter, we collect your email address, your language preference, and the same record of consent and its timestamp. Nothing else.

We do not collect identity document numbers, bank details or card details. This site displays no prices and takes no payments, so there is no payment data to hold.

What we do not do

• No third-party tracking scripts, advertising pixels or social media trackers are loaded on any page of this site.
• We do not sell, rent or otherwise trade your personal data.
• No automated decision-making and no profiling.
• We do not pass your details to third parties for their own marketing.

Traffic statistics

Our hosting provider keeps standard server access logs, as any website does. Those logs record the visitor IP address, browser type, time of request and referring page, and the provider turns them into aggregate traffic statistics we can look at, such as page views and where visitors arrived from. This is a function of the hosting, we see it in aggregate, we do not use it to identify anyone, and it is not linked to anything you submit through an enquiry form.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no tracking cookies. Browser local storage is used for exactly two things: remembering which products you added to the comparison tray, and remembering that you dismissed the announcement bar. Both stay on your device, are never sent to us, and contain no personal data. Clearing your browser data removes them. Server access logs are covered under Traffic statistics below.

Why we use it

To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quotation, arrange delivery and support, and, where you have explicitly consented, to send product and technical updates. We do not use it for anything else.

Consent and withdrawal

We collect personal data only after you tick the consent box, and we record when you did so. You may withdraw consent at any time using the contact details below. We will stop sending you marketing. Where we still have a live transaction or a warranty obligation with you, the related records are kept for the retention period below.

How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept for a reasonable period after the commercial conversation ends, so that we can honour subsequent service and warranty obligations, and in any case normally no longer than seven years, which reflects the general expectation for keeping business records in Malaysia. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. After that, we delete or anonymise the data.

Where it is held, and who sees it

Your data sits with our website hosting and database providers, used solely to run this site. We may share what is necessary with service providers who help us operate, such as our host and our email provider, and only to the extent they need it to provide that service. Beyond that we disclose your data only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

If you are outside Malaysia, please note that your data is processed and stored in Malaysia.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS throughout. The admin system requires an account to sign in, and only authorised staff can read enquiry records. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Children

This site is aimed at business buyers and technical staff. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, ask us to limit how it is processed, and withdraw a consent you gave earlier. We will respond within a reasonable period. Requests go to:

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please raise it with us first. You also have the right to complain to the Personal Data Protection Commissioner (JPDP) in Malaysia.

Changes to this policy

If we revise this policy we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page. Where a change is significant, we will make reasonable efforts to tell customers we are already in contact with.
