This is the machine for an edge site that needs x86 rather than Arm. The GB10 systems elsewhere in this category are faster per watt for inference, but they run DGX OS on Arm, and plenty of industrial and retail software does not.

A single Xeon 6700 with E-cores reaches 144 cores in a box 117mm tall, or a P-core part gives 48 cores with more per-thread performance. Eight DIMM slots take 2TB of DDR5, which is more system memory than most edge workloads will ever ask for and the reason this holds up as a consolidation host.

Three PCIe 5.0 x16 full-height slots take one double-width GPU or two single-width, from the L40S and RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q through to Intel Arc Pro cards. That is a real choice: an edge site with a licensing or driver constraint is not forced onto a single vendor.

One redundant 800W Platinum supply, two 10GBase-T ports and four front USB. At 8.16kg it mounts on a wall or sits on a shelf, which is usually what an edge site actually has.
