MSI

MSI CG480-S6053

S6053G480RAU8

The AMD EPYC 9005 version of the 4U MGX platform: thirteen PCIe 5.0 slots for up to eight accelerators, with 24 DIMM slots across 12 channels per CPU.

Overview

The same thirteen-slot 4U MGX chassis as the CG480-S5063, with dual AMD EPYC 9005 processors in place of Intel Xeon. Twelve memory channels per CPU rather than eight is the specification that matters most here: memory bandwidth is what usually limits a PCIe GPU server before the GPUs do.

Eight front hot-swap U.2 NVMe bays rather than twenty E1.S. Fewer drives, larger ones, and a more common form factor to source locally.

Available with or without NVMe RAID. The RAID variant carries an R suffix on the SKU and supports RAID 0 and 1, which matters if the node is holding the only copy of anything during a run.
